KEVIN GELLER
Kevin came from Wisconsin (Go Packers!) to Liner &
Elsen in 2003, when he and his wife decided to relocate.
He had spent several years working at Madison’s
finest wine shop, further developing his palate and
his love for quality wine. Since then L&E has grown,
as has Kevin's household in Portland. He brings high
energy to the store, and his passion is contagious.
His knack for pairing wines to cuisine, and to special
occasions, will guarantee that you'll leave with a superb
selection that may very well become your new favorite
wine.

MATT PETRIE
Matt joined L&E in 2011, when he returned
to his hometown of Portland. He previously spent several
years in New York City, where he learned the trade
working for the prestigious wine retailer Sherry-Lehmann
and for a small fine wine importer. In addition to
bringing his technological expertise to the store,
Matt also feels passionately that the world of wine
should be accessible to anyone. He’s happy to
lend his unpretentious style in helping you choose
a perfect bottle. When not at L&E, he can usually
be found on his bicycle or backpacking with his wife
through the Oregon wilderness.

BOB SCHERB
Bob hails from New York City, where opportunities
to visit Europe taught him much about great wine and
food. He arrived in Portland in 1998, bought Liner &
Elsen from founders Matt Elsen and Bob Liner that same
year, and hasn’t looked back since. His passion
for true expression of terroir in wine and an appreciation
for sustainable practices in winemaking make selling
wine a labor of love. At a time when selection, experience,
and connoisseurship are more important than ever, he’s
made L&E the best thing he can imagine: the kind
of wine shop he’d like to visit.

NEIL THOMPSON
Neil moved to Oregon to enjoy the food and
beverage lifestyle Portland is known for. After five
years wholesaling and retailing specialty wine, Neil
joined the Liner & Elsen team. Since 2005 he's brought
a unique persona to the shop, further building on what
the store is known for. When it comes to getting a wine
recommendation, you're likely to be asked, "What's
for dinner?" before being asked, "How much
do you want to spend?" Neil also brings a passion
for beer, cider and sake to the store. Ask him for your
favorites and he'll likely find them for you - or turn
you on to a new find.
