The Willamette Valley has a secret, and his name is Mo Ayoub. For about 20 years, Mo has very quietly made some of the very finest Pinot Noir (and Chardonnay!) in the valley. Mo is the sort of winemaker who forgets to raise his prices for five years, because he spends his time in his vineyard and in his cellar, and sells most everything from the cellar door. If this is your first time hearing about Ayoub wines, or your first time in a while, make no mistake, these are some of the best wines in Oregon. Mo is hands-on in the vineyard (these days he works almost exclusively with his own estate fruit), at harvest he picks with acidity in mind, and in the cellar he puts his wine in a small percentage of new oak. The result is incredible power and definition.
