Two thirds from Three Mile vineyard in the Columbia Gorge, one third from Eola Springs Vineyard, where Andy and John plan to get the majority of their future Mencia. The balance is impeccable, with aromas of fresh picked blackberries and burnt orange peel, pepper and dry soil. The palate is elegant, more black and orange, with sharp-cut peppery tannins that build on the finish. Serve with any cut of pork, and stews involving potatoes.
