Cameron Dundee Hills Chardonnay 2024
Cameron Dundee Hills Chardonnay 2024
This Chardonnay is made almost exclusively from a single block of Chardonnay clone 108 on Abbey Ridge. It spent 10 months in oak, and in classic Cameron fashion, a couple barrels of new oak were used in the blend. They save their most seasoned barrels for their single vineyard reserves, but it works well in this 2024 edition, because without that softening of oak this wine would feel like a laser beam pointed at your tonsils. Aromas here start with roasted peach and orange, with a malolactic note of cream cheese and notes of clove and cinnamon from the oak. The palate is - and this will be a recurring theme in 2024 - medium bodied but powerfully structured. Flavors show of orange and almond butter, with leesy texture and intense acidity that makes for an elegant, vividly flavorful finish.
