Schioppettino only grows in the hills on Italy's northeastern rim, where the Alps almost touch the Adriatic. No wonder that it makes wine fresh like a mountain breeze and perfect for a day at the beach. The nose is powerfully fresh, with notes of red raspberry, strawberry, orange peel, rosemary, sage and oregano. The palate is just as fresh feeling: more raspberries, strawberries, and cranberries mixed in with the full spectrum of herbs listed above. The texture is pure silk all the way through the palate, and the wine finishes with a snap of basil and cranberries. 

If you're doing anything with fresh pasta, pizza, chicken, risotto, polenta, hard cheeses or spicy sausages, this wine will be the perfect choice. If you're visiting friends and you're not sure what's on the menu, this is still the perfect choice so long as the sun is out.
