This edition of the Mermaid Cafe is from the Hollow Oak Acres Vineyard, a 6 acre site in the Chehalem Mountains. The nose shows ripe black cherry, black raspberry, pomegranate, orange peel, all spice, clove, and clay on nose. The palate is pure silk and humming with sharp, vibrant acidity that highlights flavors of blood orange and fresh berries. The finish lingers with a touch of earth and citrus. For best results, give it an hour in a decanter or a few years in the cellar. While it's deliciously fruity now, another 3-5 years age will offer more and more earth, spice, and textural elegance.
