100% Listán Blanco from a single vineyard, Los Frontones in Granadilla de Abona. This is a rare and special vineyard located at an altitude of 1687 meters in southwestern Tenerife; it is the highest known vineyard in Europe. The vines are own-rooted and planted 80-120 years ago. The grapes are harvested manually and pressed from whole bunches. The wine ferments in 1500l foudres and goes through partial malolactic fermentation. It is aged on lees in the foudres until bottling.

Tasting notes: The nose begins with orange peel, preserved pears, marzipan, some flinty reduction and big flaky fleur de sel. It is the sort of nose that itself has a finish, sticking to the nostrils and echoing through the sinuses. The palate offers a similar tactile impression, with vivid orange, tangerine, and pear crusted in salt. This is a big bodied wine cut with toe-curling acidity and a finish that lingers for minutes after the last sip, a bouquet of ripe fruit and Atlantic salt.
