Altolandon Manchuela Enfoque 2025
Altolandon Manchuela Enfoque 2025
Rosalia Molina’s vineyards are in Manchuela, some of the highest elevation vineyards in all of Spain near the city of Cuenca, where she farms organically, vinifies naturally, and makes a wide range of wines from grapes both native and introduced. Growing grapes at more than 1100 meters elevation is difficult because grapes here struggle to ripen, but the hard work is worth it, because grapes grown here ripen with far more intense flavor and sturdier structure. The Enfoque Blanc is a 50/50 blend of Godello and Garnacha Blanca, a new blend that brings Spain’s northwest and east coast together in the mountainous middle. A wine from these two varieties can’t help but be intensely fruity on the nose, with notes of pineapple, persimmon and peach; but the elevation and distinct landscape offer a touch of bayleaf and salty essence. The palate is a mouthful of peach and tangerine both full bodied and refreshingly crisp. The finish comes clean and snappy, ready for another bite of paella, chorizo, saag paneer or seafood stew.
