Phaunus takes being an old school winery to the extreme. They make wine without electricity, and intervene hardly at all in the winemaking process to craft their powerfully flavored wines. Located in the wide Vinho Verde region, one of their main varieties is the fruity Loureiro variety, which is left unfiltered here for maximum effect. Pineapples and oranges jump right out of the glass, hit a thunderous guitar riff across your palate, and don't stop until the last echo of the finish drifts away on a salty-crusted whiff of sea breeze.
