Antoine Gouffier is a no-nonsense straight-shooter of a winemaker who has a small domaine established in 2021. He has the accolades (best young winemaker in France circa 2020) and the name drops (he worked with Michel Rolland in South America in the late 20-teens). He's travelled the globe making Sauvignon Blanc, but he came home to Pouilly Fume to make what we suspect is the best Sauvignon Blanc this side of Daguenau. Hand-farmed, low yield, carefully vinified grapes of sky high quality.

Looks can be deceiving. Antoine left this wine on the skins for more than a month to give the wine extra structure and complexity. When he added a dash of sulfur to the mix, it stripped the orange color, but none of the flavor. This smells of orange sorbet and pepper, with a dusty note of tannin lingering. All of these wines will age, this one will age the longest. 13% abv.
