Neustra Sueño Vineyard was planted in 2000 without grafting. These "own-rooted" vines give the resulting wine a character that's difficult to define or describe, but winemakers will go to great lengths to find them, because whatever it is, it tastes special. This wine gives aromas of blackberry and boysenberry, blood orange thyme and lemon basil. The palate begins with rich black earth before notes of blackberry and orange arrive. The texture is perfectly silky, mouthwatering and full. Grace notes of pepper and dried herbs accompany tannins that build slowly towards the finish.
