The Orchard House vineyard was planted in 2000 on Jory soil, and gives this wine a beautiful earthy baseline. Aromas of black cherry, marionberry and blueberry come dusted with orange zest and earthy clay. The palate is full, with a creamy note thanks to 12 months in oak, 25% of it new barrels. Flavors black and blue and orange fruit are intense, but fine grain tannins come with a strong note of clay earth inside. The finish lingers with violets.
