Move over Burgundy, here comes Galicia! This green and verdant quarter of Spain is gaining more and more recognition for wine, and the varieties that make it famous are starting to find homes in other places. There are striking similarities in climate with the Willamette Valley, and most of Galicia’s vineyards are planted along the banks of the Miño and Sil rivers. Mencia and Bastardo (Trousseau) are two of Galicia’s treasured red grapes, blended here with the Spanish icon Garnacha, all sourced from Eola Springs Vineyard in the Eola Amity Hills. Just like the best Galician reds, this one is effusive and bright, with a neat balance of buoyant red fruit with zesty citrus and smoky minerality.
