Tyson Crowley makes this one with the Four Winds Draper Clone Chardonnay, same as Eyrie's early Chardonnay, a higher-acid sort and low yielding. He makes the wine in a reductive-style, leaving it more or less alone during fermentation. It's the linear, mineral-cut, acid-forward of the two. Flinty reduction, salt, green apple, pear blossoms, hints of strawberry and lime, tension filled nose. The palate is pure tension and intensity - key limes, orange, yellow roses, defined by reduction but the fruit of the palate bursts through. Give it air, give it time. Reminds us a little bit of Meursault Blagny - especially Jobard's version.
