This Bramaterra comes from both of Azienda Crus' vineyards. It offers Colma Santa Barbara's intensity and volcanic-derived minerality with La Luppa's softer, fresher aromatic character. The blend is three quarters Nebbiolo with a mixture of northern Piedmont's less tannic, red-fruit-focused blending grapes Vespolina and Croatina. Aromas start with ripe strawberry, streaks of clay, and herbs like tarragon, fennel seed, and rosemary. The palate is at once elegantly carved with silky tannins, and fresh with the signature acidity high elevation vines in Alto Piemonte never fail to deliver. Chewy cherry and strawberry cordial fruit, iron-rich clay, and underbrush fill out through the finish, where rose petals and fresh fruits linger.
