The Clos Electrique Rouge shows a pure heart of strawberry and red cherries on the nose, with dried herbs and clay and pepper and a whiff of tomato leaf. The palate is structured, with broader tannins than the Abbey Ridge, and a stronger dose of clay earth. Also appearing in no particular order: cherries, orange peels, and coriander and sage. In the short term, pair this with a great meal, but this wine has a long term too.
