Chiussuma’s Carema opens with strawberry-cherry galette fruit, fresh anise, gingersnap, shovelful of blonde earth and a leather jacket out of an old closet. The palate offers bright red cherry concentrate, orange oil, potpourri, and burnt orange peels on the finish. The wine is silky, refreshing and open, but delicate tannins build slowly after repeated sips. While the wine is stunning already, the acidity here will help the wine evolve over the next ten years or more.
