Gaetano and Nicoletta Gargano owned a large, polycultural farm in Sicily that had stopped producing much of anything, but when their good friend (and famous winemaker) Giampiero Bea's inspiration and guidance, they turned a dilapidated vineyard into a Sicilian gem, featuring the rare and charismatic Perricone grape.

The nose begins with inky black plum, smoky tar soil, graham and blackberry and blueberry, with a whiff of amaretto whipped cream. The palate is densely dark fruit, with broad shouldered, tight grained tannins. Flavors of pitch black fruit and tar and leather with hints of nutty hazelnut cake crust. Bloody iron and black fruits remain on the finish.
